Air admittance valves for above ground drainage

FloPlast are leading the way in demonstrating quality standards for air admittance valves by becoming the first company in the world to achieve BSI kitemark certification for their air admittance valves for above ground drainage systems, to BS EN 12380. FloPlast Limited was founded in 1991, and from its inception has established itself as a manufacturer of high quality plastic building and plumbing products for the construction industry, in particular for domestic new build and refurbishment projects. FloPlast Building and Plumbing Products are widely used by major housebuilders and are specified both locally and nationally to provide the building industry with solutions for domestic new build and refurbishment projects.

BSI and the Kitemark are well established in the industry for testing and certification of a wide range of construction products.

With over 100 years of experience and market exposure the Kitemark can help manufacturers to gain and retain market access, manage risk and increase revenue and profitability.

The testing programmes for the air admittance valves Kitemark scheme are designed to ensure effective product performance in installation and includes endurance testing to assess the ability of the valves to operate at extreme temperature conditions.

Valve opening pressure and vacuum/ pressure testing are also assessed.

Neil Harrison, FloPlast Quality Manager comments: 'Quality is at the heart of all that we do here at FloPlast and we are very proud that just 4 weeks on from our application we have been awarded with the Kitemark for air admittance valves'.

'BSI's flexibility and partnership approach has meant that we have been able to maintain focus and demonstrate compliance with the rigorous Kitemark scheme requirements'.

FloPlast were also recently awarded with a Kitemark licence for their PVC-U rainwater drainage systems to cover gutters, gutter brackets, down pipes and fittings (to BS EN 607, BS EN 1462 and BS EN 12200) and have a quality management system which has been assessed and registered by the BSI as meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000.
