DTI awards audit contract to Configure
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has awarded a contract for full access audits and assessments at its main London offices to Configure, the UK's leading access consultancy. The contract, which was won through a public tender, requires Configure to carry out audits of the DTI's premises in Buckingham Palace Road and in Victoria Street, including the main department offices at One Victoria Street, to evaluate access under the disability discrimination Act (DDA). The audits, which will be conducted using Configure's innovative Smart Audit DDA software, will provide the DTI with an access plan that identifies, and indicates solutions for, any access issues.
Smart Audit will automatically update the plan when additional adjustments are required as the DDA evolves through case law, enabling the DTI's facilities managers to keep abreast of the changes.
